Using Ipads to create Arts -Training courses 17th June 2015

The Barton Learning Collaborative Trust  SLiCL Project is pleased to extend the following training opportunity to teachers and Artists throughout North Lincolnshire

 iPads provide another tool in the artists palette and offer exciting possibilities for extending teaching and learning in art and design.

Get Creative with iPads  two training session exploring digital art-making

 

Wednesday 17th June 2015

Course One: 1.30 to 3.30pm

Course 2: 4.00 to 6.00pm

  • With increasing emphasis on digital technology in schools, are you making the best use of iPads and Apps in your classroom?

This training session will:

  • Look at the benefits of working with iPads and how this form of digital learning can enhance and extend traditional approaches to delivering the Art & Design curriculum in primary schools.
  • Provide an overview of some of the most popular and user-friendly Drawing and Art Apps available.
  • Offer a short practical creative project, where participants will create a range of artwork, whilst experimenting with a number of Apps alongside traditional art materials.
  • Encourage participants to explore the creative possibilities of iPads as another tool in the artist’s palette and consider how to fully integrate technology into the classroom.

NOTE: Participants will need to bring their own iPads. Once bookings have been confirmed we will advise which Apps need to be installed ready for the session.

Who should attend?
Primary teachers and Art or ICT Coordinators who are keen to develop their skills and are interested in using iPads to support the Art & Design curriculum. 

The session will be co-delivered by:

 Clare Price is an arts education consultant with more than 20 years experience as a practicing artist, lecturer, artist in schools and communities, and as a strategic manager. She is a highly experienced trainer and facilitator and works with the national Campaign For Drawing as a Regional Associate and ‘Big Draw’ trainer.

 Kate Genever is an artist with a specialism is drawing. She has extensive experience in devising, developing, delivering and managing art based projects and education workshops for all age ranges and abilities. She completed her MA in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art and has recently undertaken the Clore Leadership short course. Her current research is exploring the role of artists who work with drawing in communities.

£35:00 for one 2 hour course (for non BLCT schools)

This evening will give you the chance to find out what this iconic dance entails.  Participants of the taster class would get a chance to hear a bit about the history of tango and see different styles as well as learn a little routine.

Barton Arts- Monday Night at the Movies at Ropery Hall

A throwback to an earlier age of cinema.  Pianist Kieran White will play his original piano score written to accompany Buster Keaton’s silent classic, Steamboat Jnr.  The score contains a vast array of references – from Wagner to Pachelbel to instantly recognizable popular melodies.

Barton Arts- Amaryllis Consort: Food of Love

This vocal ensemble specialises in early secular music, particularly Tudor madrigals. They have performed on BBC Radio 3 and feature regularly at Hampton Court Palace, and other historical venues around London. The concert programme contains love songs of the period interspersed with poetry and prose from Shakespeare and his contemporaries.

Barton Arts- Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band

The band was formed more than 125 years ago through public donations which continue to this day. Its amateur members traditionally pride themselves on being financially independent, never having been beholden to any commercial interest, yet they are still regarded as one of the ‘elite’ on the contest and concert platforms.
